SEASONS The Territory is traditionally divided into the wet and dry, but there are up to six traditional seasons in Darwin. It is warm and sunny from May to September. HOW TO GET THERE AND TRAVEL AROUND? There is a variety of ways to get to Darwin: train, bus, drive, boat, daily air access from all capital cities. Darwin is four hours flying time from Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and just three hours from Brisbane. Once in Darwin you can hire a car, take a shuttle bus or walk. WHERE TO STAY? WATERFRONT DINING Darwin offers year–round waterfront dining to suit all budgets. MUST HAVE... DARWIN SUNSETS The fiery tropical sun of the north puts on a dramatic fi nale each evening over Darwin Harbour. Some of the most popular places to view them include; taking a sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour, the seaside sailing clubs in Fannie Bay, coastal reserves at East Point, Nightcliff and Casuarina. CROCODYLUS PARK At Crocodylus Park, 20 minutes from Darwin city, visitors can come face to face with the largest reptiles on the planet. The Park houses thousands of crocodiles along with several species of big cats, primates, birds and other reptiles. Several guided tours are conducted daily during feeding times.

FURTHER AFIELD LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK Litchfield National Park is just over an hour’s drive from Darwin. Attractions include; Buley Rockhole, Wangi Falls, Sandy Creek, Tolmer Falls and Florence Falls. Check signs for swimming accessibility.
JUMPING CROCODILE CRUISE Adelaide River is home to a large number of saltwater crocodiles that can be viewed up close on a jumping crocodile cruise. Crocodiles need little encouragement to propel themselves vertically out of the water at bait. Located half an hour drive from Darwin city
TIWI ISLANDS The Tiwi Islands are a half-hour fl ight or two–hour ferry ride north of Darwin. The Tiwi people are world renowned for their distinctive art and craft, which travellers can purchase from local artists.
